7 Simple Tips for the Overwhelmed Mom: How to Reclaim Your Peace and Feel Like Yourself Again
You’re Not Alone: A Message for Every Overwhelmed Mom
Let’s be honest, being a mom is no joke. Some days it feels like you’re doing everything for everyone, and no one even notices. You’re driving the kids, making meals, working, cleaning, comforting, planning and still wondering if you’re doing “enough.”
If you’ve ever said to yourself, “I’m so tired, I don’t know how much longer I can do this,” then this is for you.
As a life coach and fellow mom who has lived through the chaos, I see you. I was you. That’s why I created Liv Laugh Luv to support overwhelmed moms in finding their way back to happiness, inner peace, and purpose.
These 7 tips aren’t about doing more. They’re about doing what matters most for YOU. Let’s help you feel like yourself again, step by step.
7 Simple Tips for Overwhelmed Mom
1. Take a Pause (Even for 5 Minutes)
You don’t have to earn rest. You deserve it. Sit down. Breathe. Sip your coffee while it’s still hot. Take 5–10 minutes just for you. That tiny pause can shift your whole day.

2. Stop the Negative Self-Talk (aka Kill the ANTs)
Those little thoughts like “I’m not doing enough,” “I’m a mess,” or “I have to get my life together”?
They’re ANTs—Automatic Negative Thinking—and they’re not true. Start replacing them with real truths like,
👉 “I’m doing my best.”
👉 “I am enough.”
Replace the ANTs with appreciating the beauty that surrounds you.

3. Say No Without Guilt
Every time you say “yes” to something that drains you, you’re saying “no” to your peace. This week, pick one thing to say no to. That’s a real “game changer” for overwhelmed moms, protecting your energy like the Queen that you are.

4. Talk to Yourself Like Someone You Love
You’re kind to everyone else but what about you? Stand in front of the mirror and say:
👉 “I am beautiful inside and out. I am worthy of love. I am doing enough.”
It might feel awkward at first, but this small moment can shift your mindset big time.

5. Brain Dump the Mental Clutter
Your brain isn’t a to-do list. Grab a notebook and write down everything that you need to get done the next day. Prioritize them in order and don’t put 5 things in the beginning. Meet these goals everyday, to have more courage, strength, and confidence, because you’ll be completing your goal. And that’s a win!

6. End Your Day with Gratitude
Even if your day was messy and loud, find 3 small wins.
👉 “I made it through.”
👉 “The kids laughed today.”
👉 “I got five minutes of peace.”
Write them down. These tiny moments build joy, one night at a time.
Best Practice: Keep a gratitude journal by your bed to make it easy.

7. Remember: You’re Still in There
Visualize the toughest time in your life, how hard it was, and how many tears you cried. And now think of even in the most difficult times and challenges, you made it through. You have the strength to get through anything with grace and perseverance.
Beneath the tired, overwhelmed parts of you is a strong, amazing woman. She’s still there. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to reconnect. Try breathing deeply. Visualize her rising. Speak her name out loud: “I am still here.”
